Switching to another person disables the cheat.
Note: Avoid sharks, they will cause a game-stopping glitch. When you drive any vehicle while you are invincible the car will also be invincible. Then you can turn the boat around and go back to Miami. The game should say "Leaving Miami." but you don't actually leave, instead you become invincible. Have them chase you until it says "You're then try to leave Miami again in a boat (could be the same if you want). Next, get out of your boat on the nearest land and try to get the cops after you again, the same way as before. When you leave Miami, the game should say "Indictment" after a minute, and you'll lost the cops (It might not even say anything at all, but you are still free from the cops).

Drive a little bit and then just wait until the game says "You're Now, drive the boat away from the helicopters and try to leave Miami (you may need the heal vehicle code on if you are about to die). Go to the ocean, then spawn a boat (or find one).
Pick the Assassin, Driver, or Enforcer (may work for Tony too), then get the cops to chase you (it will say "Lose The Cops!").

Make sure you have your boat driver unlocked first as you'll need boats quickly. When you spawn again, check your weapons locker and find that it now contains the desired gun. Kill members of the team and pick up a Carbine Assault Rifle they drop. Find shelter and take out the cops as they come, without getting killed. Start shooting, and continue the disruption until finally the police arrive. Normally, you would have to wait until the "Fifth Reputation Upgrade" to snag the Carbine Assault Rifle, but you can get it earlier.
